First Lampardian War is first of the two Lampardian Wars that was set in the Lampardian System, most notably Polysiton. It is the conflict between the Sentinel colonists and the Lagikoi against the Infantid tribe Evil Baby Corporation

EBC Aggression and the Symmachic War[]

The Evil Baby Corporation under Kakistargyrion grew more interested in taking over the Polysiton planet and subjugating its citizens after figuring out their great knowledge of automation. This for one was especially coveted by any Infantid tribes, as it was the subjugation of a semi-industrialized people that launched Evil Baby Corporation to a position of power. EBC aggression started against Sentinel outposts starting G2056, and within a period of months, most Sentinel outposts were overrun by sheer brute force of the EBC. The tensions between EBC and the Lagikoi grew starting with EBC occupation of the polis of Argis, which was then jointly shared with the Sentinels. The resulting action spurs the polis of Seleon into action, confronting the EBC in the Battle of Kyklopia, an indecisive battle.

The Seleonite action results in much more aggressive attitudes by the EBC invasionary force, and EBC turns to Seleon's allies, such as Bylazora. However, the siege was cut short by the intervention of troops from Argyria. Angered by this, Viferus the satrap turns to Argyria: the First Battle of Argyria is ultimately won by the Infantids and the EBC forcibly relocate the citizens elsewhere to make it an Infantid base. However, after the fall of Argyria, one of the refugees, Antimachos Argyrios, managed to escape to Phovellis, and set up from there the Koinon Syllogon with overwhelming support given by the Phovellian populace. Koinon Syllogon included Hydropolis, Trisphaion, Phovellis, Berenikaia, Epicharis, and Pella. Surprisingly, Seleon never was included in the Koinon Syllogon, despite Seleon's interest in doing so.

Koinon Syllogon performed initially well, routing an EBC army in the fields of Plataia, resulting in Kakistargyrion replacing Viferus with Militius as the satrap and supreme commander of the EBC forces in Polysiton. Militius created false pacifist bands, which were key in infiltrating the polis of Berenikaia leading to its eventual conquest. Not only that, Viferus is once again restored as a commander of ground forces, and Viferus's aggression starts to wear out the Koinon Syllogon, which without the vanguards from Seleon weren't able to get an edge over EBC. The stalemate is broken at the Battle of Long Horns (Makrokeraia), where Antimachos is killed, and Koinon Syllogon's command structure was thus shattered and the troops paralyzed, effectively ending it.

Areus Megas's Anabasis[]

With the defeat of the Koinon Syllogon, the southern region of Megale Patris effectively lost cohesive resistance, and most poleis were occupied by the EBC. Whereas resistance was ubiquitous resulting in measures such as the complete depopulation of Pella, only Seleon was left to provide any solid resistance in areas affected by the EBC (The Eastern regions were largely untouched). It was in this situation where Areus Megas was launched to fame: Areus happened to be an adventurer seeking out wild Thrane in relatively rich groves located at the border region between Braxis and Arrybia, only to find an ransacked Sentinel Base alongside foraging EBC troops ruining the land. Having wiped out the warband devastating the land singlehandedly with very few allies, Areus took to himself to spearhead a new resistance.

In his travels Areus faced some EBC troops, although the warband itself that he faced was a reserve warband, and thus was largely underequipped and undertrained. For one, Areus never faced EBC armor during his misadventures, nor did he had to face EBC flamethrowers, grenades, or firearm. Regardless, his exploits spread throughout Polysiton, rekindling Lagikoi morale. Phovellis, now an occupied polis, decides to rebel after Areus created the Territorial Independence Army, this time centered around Seleon. This results in EBC besieging the city, sparking the actual First Lampardian War.

Liberation of Western Megale Patris[]

The Siege of Phovellis on G2058 was quickly rebuffed by the allied Lagikoi poleis under the newly acclaimed hero of Arrybia and Braxis, Areus Megas. With the momentum of the offense broken, the Lagikoi quickly swept through the western and southwestern part of Megale Patris, quickly liberating poleis that were occupied by the Infantids. The initial successes of Areus's leadership led the poleis to create a permanent military union by the name of Territorial Independence Army, and Areus was named the Strategos Autokrator of the said organization. Areus was also named the tyrannos of Seleon as well, and Areus gained significant influence within Lagikoi community, which started to become more monolithic.

With TIA taking complete control of the southwestern Megale Patris, EBC forces were split, one force at the region of Archaia mostly garrisoned in Argis, and the bigger force in souther Megale Patris, centered around Argyria, Polis-Eschate, and Epicharis. EBC then started to fortify the positions, building new forts such as one in Makrokeraia (Long Horns), Pyrsokolpos (Red Creek), and Eurynome (Wide Law). However, Viferus argued that Berenikaia should be defended, while Militius believed that Berenikaia should be given up given that it would extend the front. With help of liberated ninjas, Areus was able to spread misinformation that next TIA attack would be on Berenikaia, effectively forcing EBC to maintain a long front. With Viferus on Berenikaia, Areus was then able to push towards Argyria, crushing the small garrison weakened by the transfer of most of the troops to reinforce Berenikaia. Posterity of Sentinels also starts to take action, rebuilding many of the Sentinel outposts within TIA territory, and using the outposts to launch raids against EBC positions. Now harassed and with a large front to boot, EBC forces in southern Megale Patris was deeply troubled, and as they were isolated from the northern troops, EBC could not capitalize on the weak points of TIA strategy which left Seleon poorly defended.

Operation Action Ranger, EBC Counteroffensive[]

However, Kakistargyrion requisitoned more reinforcement to Polysiton as the situation grew dire for the preexisting EBC troops in Polysiton. On the 2nd quarter of G2049, 800,000 more babies were sent to Polysiton, which strengthened the EBC position at the southern Megale Patris. However, the EBC position in Archaia barely got any reinforcement, locking them from making an offensive move towards Seleon which received fresh troops from Emporion, joining the TIA forces to fight off EBC disruption of trade becoming the first non-Megale Patris polis to join the TIA.

However, the 800,000 Baby reinforcement was more than the size of the original invasion force, meaning EBC forces just grew to nearly triple the size. With the armies growing, Militius grew confident and decided to launch a counteroffensive on a broad front in contrast to Areus, who preferred surgical attacks one of which led to the capture of Argyria. Militius opted for this believing that this would force Areus to overextend. The Operation Action Ranger was thus started, and it consisted of 4 large prongs starting from the depopulated Pella. 2 prongs went north of the Lake Agios, other two headed south. The northern expedition would split off at Arkadine, one going to Argyria while other passing through Kylomenian forest, which could then strike either Bylazora or Hydropolis. The southern expedition would also split elsewhere, one of the fronts going for Phovellis while other given a minor objective such as devastating terrain or if necessary, reinforce the assault on Argyria.

After several skirmishes between the advance groups, the front between the 2 southern EBC forces, one of the northern EBC force and the TIA seemed to have stabilized near the southeastern borders of Argyria. The EBC's lack of quality prevented them from making significant advances against the TIA positions, but an unexpected event changes the tide of the conflict. Discipline within the Infantid ranks were never exceptional, and the often impetuous infantids often ventured out into the field looking for villages to plunder, often resulting in ambushes. However, wayward Infantids of the Archaian warband fortuitously found Seleon poorly defended. When rumors of Infantid surprise attack on Seleon fell upon the TIA central forces near Phovellis, the Seleonite troops became unnerved, and some troops quickly rushed to protect Seleon.

The would-be invasion of Seleon never took place: the EBC had no plans to take Seleon, for their goal was to break the Lagikoi at Argyria and eventually take Phovellis. However, the panic ensued by the surprise threat to Seleon left a gap in the Lagikoi position at Argyria, resulting in the devastating results at the Second Battle of Argyria. This colossal defeat resulted in the destruction of a good portion of the TIA forces. Not only were many brigades rendered incapable of battle, Lagikoi morale also floundered. On the other hand EBC forces were exultant over this victory, while more impetuous commanders such as Viferus became more willing to listen to Militus, whose success made the Infantid value cunning.

Militius then sought to capture Phovellis to destroy the TIA's nerve system, but Militius wanted to ensure that its success would intimidate other Lagikoi poleis. As such, Militius planned an aerial assault: he first envisioned the subjugation of the northeastern part of Aphrantis, most importantly the major polis of Telemantros. With Telemantros subjugated, the Infantids could then launch forward from the west to encircle Phovellis. To do this, he constructed a huge fleet of airships, and the Infantids were fascinated by this idea. Even the most impetuous of the enforcers found Militius's seemingly patient idea brilliant, and hoped to reap well what was sown. With Viferus agreeing to Militius's plan, the stage was set for the Battle of Telemantros.

Endgame[]

However, Militius's strategy, while novel to the Infantids, was devastated by the entrance of Sematia Aiakida, who led the remaining Polemarchos-class aerial cruisers alongside her own work, the Mikroteros Aiakides, to stunning victory in the Battle of Telemantros. With Militius's strategy countered at the very beginning by forces far smaller than itself, the infantid morale flagged and the poleis' forces came back with a vengeance. Sematia's ship was pretty much considered the face of death, thus the Eleutheroi found it convenient to bring Sematia along as much as possible to scare away infantids from key positions. As the Eleutheroi continue to recover lands, the infantids start mutinies hoping for peace, which were quelled by the loyalist EBC forces with significant cost. The battered infantids were eventually pinned in Oxys, and the resulting Eleutheroi victory at the Battle of Oxys concluded the First Lampardian War.
