Ergatai, or Workers, are a branch of auxiliary support units of the Lagikoi forces, particularly those of the Territorial Independence Army.

Background[]

All society must have raw materials to wage war, and as such Lagikoi also have their own share of workers. Workers are treated as equals, for collective thinking is one of the key elements in the sphere society. Worker Lagikoi are hardy, so they can take more damage than most other Lagikoi, but they have no weapons to attack with. (Imperium Novum)

The evolution of war however forced the Lagikoi to adapt, while inventions from both the Lagikoi and the Posterity aided the Lagikoi. From the Posterity the Lagikoi acquired the knowledge of welding torches, while the Lagikoi modified the design to be more user-friendly to the Lagikoi. Likewise, the Lagikoi firearm technology also saw significant improvements after the First Lampardian War.

Equipment[]

In the First Lampardian War, the Ergatai were very poorly equipped, equipped with very little asides from the pickaxe, which had been standard issue. The Ergatai were employed mainly as builders (this function is not reflected in the Galactic War and Imperium Novum) as well as miners, mining from open mines common throughout Polysiton.

With the advent of the Second Lampardian War, Ergatai equipments were vastly improved to adapt to the much more organized troops of the Tropas Libre and the League of the Planet-States. For starters, open mines started to die out, leaving Areios Crystals as the main source of income. To accomodate for the shift in field mining paradigm, Ergatai are equipped with engineering torches, a vast improvement over the pickaxe, as it grants them ability to mine Areios Crystals in the field, in addition to them being able to repair vehicles in the field and build structures with greater ease. In addition, the Ergatai are also lightly equipped with Pistolia Phylake and a knife, allowing them to protect themselves and/or hunt animals for forage.

Ε.Α.Β.Ε: Commoners' Legion[]

Ergatai are the worker units of the Territorial Independence Army faction in Commoners' Legion. Unlike their more antiquated counterparts, the Ergatai can construct structures and build buildings, functionalities not available to their counterpart in the predecessor. While Ergatai are able to fight and are quite durable, the Ergatai are equipped only with a pistol compared to the SMGs that their battle brothers carry and have a small squad size, making them ill-suited to fight anything more than a small band of Shooter Babies scouts.

Ergatai are the TIA's only mining unit, although the Harma Phrakta can be employed to speedily bring multiple Ergatai back and forth between Areios nodes and the Metallourgeion.

Ergatai have 3 support option equipments: Beam Drill increases its ability to mine Areios build buildings, while the Chemical Kit is a support tool allowing Ergatai to heal allies and provide emergency hardening to vehicles. Electronic Kit is more offensive, allowing the Ergatai to disable enemy robotic units.
