Arche Hellenike, (Gk. Ἀρχή Ἑλληνική) literally the Greek Empire, is a major faction in the Hekastos Allotrioi Barbaron Esti universe. It is the leading power of Tmere Asia in several ways, being the only interstellar nation controlling more than one star system and by extension the largest of the Tmere Asia factions, both Gaian and indigenous. Arche Hellenike is the economic and technological superpower, as well as a major player in the diplomatic stage and being the primary force behind the order of Tmere Asia.

Starcraft-like Origins Exodus[]

Also see: Kallistrata Pellaia

The origins of the first populations of Arche Hellenike came in a fashion very much like those who settled on Koprulu Sector in Starcraft Universe, meaning the populations were made of exiles unwanted by the major power in Terra, the Socivm Amicorvm. However, unlike the Starcraft counterpart, the founders of Arche Hellenike were alone, and were under the leadership of Kallistrata, who was also the first fully sentient android built whose class is dubbed Strategoi, as the development took place in Greece, and were designed primarily to be used in military purposes.

The exiles landed on its capital world Meizotere Hellas in G2036, and cities developed quickly given the capital stored within the ships. As they were united under Kallistrata, the fledging exiles quickly developed a utopian society based on socialism and democracy. Combining the downtoning of the social scope of government with political dissidents of Socivm Amicorvm, Meizotere Hellas quickly became a cradle of utopian societies running under different principles, something that Kallistrata was happy to see as Kallistrata wished to study the actual applications of different political ideologies.

Birth of the Arche[]

Meizotere Hellas was now a decentralized planet consisting of different utopian and non-utopian societies, with Kallistrata's polis of Pella at the vanguard. However, as population started to grow, even the very rich (organically and inorganically) environment of Meizotere Hellas started to feel bit too narrow for all the societies. The most discontent of them all would be the libertarians, many under the unfortunate delusion that all other types of government involved initiation of force, and hence immoral. With the pacifists and pragmatic libertarians quickly squelched by the hawks, the libertarians started to pressure other city-states, particularly the socialist and communist ones. As the rhetoric grew more grating, many of the city-states had enough, and soon war erupted between the city-states of Meizotere Hellas.

For the libertarians, this turn of events couldn't turn better, as they believed that initiation of force was a cardinal sin: and because the other city-states initiated force on them (i.e. attack), they could claim legitimacy of their actions, and hence mobilization of libertarian city-states went very quickly and very smoothly. Given their love of guns, their high marksmanship gave them an edge against the other folks not so happy about privately owned firearms, and soon libertarians started to dominate Meizotere Hellas.

Growing overconfident, the libertarians provoked Kallistrata's Pella, which was still considered a reputable arbitrator amongst the Meizotere Hellas's city-states. Kallistrata soon had enough of the libertarians, and rallied the neutral city-states as well, which were by then disgusted by the dogmatism rampant among the right-wing dominated libertarian city-states. Now with numerical advantage and with constant guerilla attacks against the libertarians by the communists and the socialists, the libertarians eventually took heavy losses and were on brink of defeat. Given the rampant absolutism, they had no intention of capitulation, as they feared it meant a statist rule over them. So Kallistrata offered them the choice to leave on the original ship that took the exiles to Megale Hellas, and the libertarians chose to leave, effectively restoring peace within Meizotere Hellas. Now with Kallistrata gaining more reputation, many of the city-states offered Kallistrata a leadership position in a new league of city-states, to which Kallistrata accepted without hesitation.

By then, Kallistrata grew weary of utopianism, and started to look much more pragmatically: the libertarian ruckus made Kallistrata distrustful of dogmatic and extremist political ideologies, and thus Kallistrata grew much less open to multiplicity of political thoughts. As a result, Kallistrata took to a campaign to remove such ideologies, marking them as xenophobic and hence barbarian. With each campaign Kallistrata's political clout grew, and it was only a matter of time before the city-states grew more reliant on Kallistrata's rule or eviscerated. This left Kallistrata the hegemon, and hence the Arche was born.

Political Structure[]

While the Arche Hellenike is dubbed the Empire, it was initially not an autocratic monarchy suggested by the term which was used by the likes of Arche Seleukeia. Rather, the Arche Hellenike was more in lines with the Koinon Delios, with Kallistrata's Pella being the hegemon as Athenai was the hegemon of the Koinon Delios. However, Kallistrata's ambitions, as well as Pella's significant amount of resources, led Kallistrata into converting the league into a unified state, with the inevitable need to subjugate dissident factions. This transformed the Arche Hellenike into an empire much akin to the Arche Makedonike of Philippos `B and Megas Alexandros, and it was during the unification process that the nation got its name.

However, democracy had been a notion familiar to the colonists of Meizotere Hellas having been colonized barely more than a Gaian decade before the Eleutherian War. While Kallistrata's military victory has gained her some prestige, Kallistrata did not have the legitimacy to becoming a full-fledged autocratic basileus: Kallistrata wanted the title and took the title, but in practice Kallistrata exerted little control beyond Pella and its apoikiai such as the mining cities of Philippoi and Megara Metalleias on Mount Pangaion, as well as several paralic apoikiai on the Mesogeios such as Pythia and Byzantion Eschaton. In fact, it was the expansionist colonization of Pella that allowed Kallistrata to become hegemon in the first place.

The Arche was dramatically affected by the Xenophobic War: on one hand, its aftermath resulted in the Arche becoming a constitutional monarchy with a heavy technocratic flavor, but on the other hand its inception was what cemented the Arche into a single, homogenous political entity. Shuranon's insult to the Arche's envoy and its people rallied the loose confederation onto Kallistrata, but the casualties of war quickly dampened support. While the Arche's superior economy and weapons, as well as its seizure of space around Luxium led to its victory, Baekryeoh complaints as well as internal resistance put a halt to any notion of annexing Shuranon. With that said, the Arche victory demonstrated the technological and economical power of Nea Makedonia proper, as was Kallistrata's role in educating its populace. Not only that, Nea Makedonia was also supported by the Muslims of Nea Mekka, so the outlying territories agreed to become part of Arche Hellenike on the condition that Kallistrata expand her school. This led to the anabasis of the Phrontisterion of Meizon Pella, which already was a prestigious school during its time as the Phrontisterion of Nea Pella.

Kallistrata is the head of the state and holds the title of Strategos Autokrator as well as the power to veto decisions. Nevertheless, Kallistrata's ability to exert control is limited compared to her rule of Nea Makedonia, and the bureaucracy and the legislature are the ones making the daily decisions of the state (with Kallistrata's influence). While Kallistrata still retains the ability to pursue executive actions and to propose bills as well, legislative bills would have to be approved by the senate like any other bills in the Arche, and the executive actions could be struck down. Likewise, initially during the early stages of Xenophobic War Kallistrata's ability to veto decision was absolute, but the Boule of the 11th Year amended that allowing the Synhedrion to override the veto with a large enough majority. Kallistrata endorsed this shift to a constitutional monarchy, and while Kallistrata decided to keep the title of Strategos Autokrator maintaining the position as generalissimo of the army, Kallistrata also took the title Archon Basilis to signal a shift towards greater representation and democracy.

The Arche's adminstrative regions are classified by size: the largest, the Politeiai, consist of entirety of a planet and are subdivided into Eparchiai, which are the equivalent of politeiai of Henomenai Politeiai tes Amerikes or the Provinciae of the Romaioi. The Eparchiai are then subdivided into smaller Dioikeseis, which in turn are divided into Epitropeiai, which are the Arche analogue to counties. Epitropeiai would then be subdivided into the various demai and metropoleis.

Culture and Technology[]

Arche Hellenike is in a cultural sense could be oversimplified as a modernized Diadochoi state with a technocratic twist. Much of this is a direct result of the Greek heritage of Kallistrata Pellaia and the Strategoi as a whole. Arche Hellenike is a multicultural state with Greek culture as the preeminent culture, followed by various other cultures, most notably the Islamic one and the Korean one, former a result of Kallistrata's pro-Islamic bent fostered by the partnership with liberal Shareef Al-Shadid during the Terran War of Hegemonia and culminating in the formation of moderate secularist Muslims led by his son Usuma Al-Shadid, and the latter formed by cultural exchanges with the amiable republic of Baekryeoh. This largely coincides especially with Arche Seleukeia, which had to deal with its multiethnic populace and outside cultures, yet remaining Hellenistic at the core.

While its multicultural yet distinctly Hellenistic culture resembles Arche Seleukeia, its patronage of scholars is more in line with the Ptolemaioi. Arche Hellenike is home to radical progressive ideologies such as transhumanism, which is in no small part due to Kallistrata's advocacy for elimination of sex, reproducing through cloning vats and supplementing the labor force with automatons. The Phrontisterion of Meizon Pella is pretty much the Mouseion of Alexandreia in space: Not only is it the mekka of scholars across Tmere Asia, it is also the home to the largest database in Tmere Asia as well. The trade with Baekryeoh involved the transfer of knowledge between the two states, and Kallistrata took the effort to copy all Baekryeoh books and store the digital copies in the Phrontisterion's Bibliotheke.

Given the indispensibility of artificial augmentation of the workforce including but not limited to cybernetics and artificial life, technocratic and transhumanist beliefs stand as mainstream philosophies in the Arche to the point Kallistrata's brand of Transhumanism has been given an official status of a cult in the Arche, and it is a leading academic force in the Phrontisterion of Meizon Pella in the form of the Mechanical College. Asides from transhumanism, education itself is highly valued and is a central part of the Neohellenistic culture. While the Phrontisterion of Meizon Pella is the most prestigious school in Segmentum Asia, there are also other alternatives such as the Pandidakterion of Theodosion, the Argeadeia located in Hesperis, and the Ptolemaion in Masos, with lesser-known Phrontisteria and Pandidakteria spread throughout the empire's borders. Arche Hellenike's technological achievements stem from its new students and senior researchers. Its reach is also wide: on the bioengineering and cybernetic side, cybernetic implants are ubiquitous and the technology to craft artificial bodies inherited from the Gaian Akademia was expanded to create wholly autonomous machines which would be the Strategoi. Its physics department is equally impressive: while application of dark matter and antimatter still remains in experimental stages, much more success was found in the field of electromagnetism: the application of Areios led to the advancement of the Aktinobolos weapons, which were once weaponized form of Thermal Ray but has evolved to focus more on electromagnetic properties, and the newer Phaeinoi weapons are unique to the Arche and uninherited from its Gaian origin. The Areios also sped up development of industry and material science, and while Arche advancement over other Tmere Asia factions in this department is more modest, Arche still has some edge in creating the strongest alloys to be used for plating and construction.

Intellectual pursuit and passions are deemed virtues in the Arche, especially scientific and engineering ones. Kallistrata Pellaia's tenure as a kathegetes on top of administration kept Kallistrata in touch with the latest scientific developments in the Arche, and Kallistrata also directly participates in developing new technologies at the Phrontisterion of Meizon Pella. Military technological development is seen as necessary and good: one because the Arche sees the example of the Cold War as the example to follow developing technologies to ward off the ever-so-vigorous libertarians of the Tropas Libre. The Xenophobic War introduced the notion of militarizing Areios, and the Arche responded by creating the Phaeinoi series of weapons. In fact, the economic focus on military was just as pronounced as the academic efforts, and military-industrial complex once was the chief occupant of the industrial portion of Meizon Pella. However, the aftermath of the Xenophobic War drastically weakened the MIC's influence over the Arche, a matter made convenient by the state ownership of its biggest military firm, the Makedonian Industries. Makedonian Industries applied the shipbuilding knowhows to build sturdy trading ships while still producing warships needed to ward off Infantid and libertarian raiders and pirates.

Retaining capabilities and creative capabilities are valued highly in the Arche. To that matter, the Arche's society has evolved to create two classes: the Technopharmakeis, or the Techmages, who are the epitomes of creativity, and the Grammateis, who serve to hold massive amounts of data and thus are the ultimate encyclopedias. Given the shared technologies in creating both, the boundaries between the Technopharmakeis and the Empeirioi are rather thin. However, since creativity in machines are much more difficult to create, the general consensus in the Arche is that the Technopharmakeis are of the higher echelon.

Because the hard sciences are by far the most revered in Arche's atmosphere, arts take a comparative backseat in the Arche society. Despite this, the Arche isn't entirely devoid of artistic activity, if only to promote its STEMcentric culture. Arche's primary cultural economic activity is digital, centered around video games: programming, digital arts, and music dominates the Arche's artistic sphere, and Meizotere Hellas is the mecca for some genre of music such as djent and metal.

Units[]

The Arche uses the standard SI units in most things, although the Arche also uses the Hellenic units such as stadion as well in property ownership and everyday goods.

Arche uses the drachma as the base unit of currency. The Imperial drachma is not like the ancient drachma in that the drachma is not fixed to a standard wage system (i.e. 1 drachma for a day's work), although it is still fixed to price of a unit weight of a metal. Currently, 1 drachma is equivalent to .356720 (± .000000323) kg of gold. The higher and lower units of currency mirrors that of the ancient Greeks. However, the 3rd lowest denomination (and the lowest in the classical world), the lepton, is clearly defined as one 96th of a drachma. There are additional units; the Megethon, equivalent to thousand Talanton, the Paroikos, equivalent to 1/50th of a lepton, and the Hekatonakes, equivalent to 1/100th of a Paroikos. There are subdivisions of the lepton to reflect the rather high value of the drachma, divided into units of 60.

From/To Drachma Obolos Chalkoi Lepton Paroikos Hekatonakes Mnai Talanton Megethon

As of June 28, 2013, the price of gold was around 39.52$ per g. As such, it can be concluded that the approximate value of an Imperial Drachma is $14,100, although the gold prices recently went up from a few days. Given the enormous value of an Imperial Drachma, the smallest units, the Paroikos and Hekatonakes, are the most commonly used currency in daily use. While the Drachma is nominally pinned to a weight of gold, the Drachma functions as a fiat currency in that the Arche is not obligated to exchange the metal for the paper bills. Because of this, the libertarians could not withdraw gold out of the Arche treasury to devalue the currency, which was already the dominant currency in Segmentum Asia given the relative importance of Meizotere Hellas caused by its largest trading web.

Arche Hellenike operates on a mixed economy, having both a state-owned component, which is technically led by a bureaucratic body but effectively influenced by the board of experts and economists put in place to minimize the problem associated with bureaucratic boggling that ruined planned economies such as that of the USSR. Nonetheless, the military-industrial complex used to occupy a fairly large portion of the Arche's GDP, but has seen a significant reduction to Arche's benefit as Arche shifted its focus from its military as an aftermath of the Xenophobic War.

As a technocratic nation, the Arche seeks to evolve from capitalist model predominant in Ge before the great exile. While the various city-states of Meizotere Hellas had been capitalist and Nea Makedonia also was a mixed state capitalist state akin to Singapore before its anabasis, human labor simply could not keep up and capitalist model had to be reevaluated. Kallistrata initially sought to build a fully planned economy, while also using that to shape up a military-industrial complex needed to sustain Kallistrata's conquests. This plan was discarded entirely after the Xenophobic War, and Kallistrata chose partial liberalization and a significant weakening of the MIC.

Despite some privatization and liberalization, the state remains a big player in some of its core economic activities. Spaceship building is one such industry: Kallistrata retained much of Arche's capabilities in state hands in the form of Makedonian Industries, although Kallistrata allowed for private competitions to rise up to challenge the state enterprise after the Xenophobic War. As such, shipping is one of the ways government earns revenue, either by renting or selling cargo ships to private enterprises. The limited liberalization had the effect of keeping state-owned shipbuilders such as the Makedonian Aerospace (part of the Makedonian Industries) on its toes. Likewise, the state has a large presence in the Arche's financial market and maintains the ability to take tight control. Kallistrata had always hated the notion of financiers and speculators pillaging economies to make a quick buck, and controls shorts and speculation to almost paranoid levels.

As an economy which started off with elements of planned economy and still maintains a large degree of state control, it inherits some of the socialist countries' economic woes such as an underdeveloped consumer goods market, which has steadily improved since partial liberalization. Likewise, Arche also boasts one of the highest human capital in Segmentum Asia, being the host of some of its most renowned academic facilities, most of which are affiliated with the Phrontisterion of Meizon Pella. However, the small businesses also are somewhat difficult to regulate as many come and go, and consumer trust isn't too high unless certification is given. Despite this, consumer trust isn't as low as one would expect from a relatively socialist economy. On the other hand, since certification is virtually necessary for a survival of a newly-born business, there is a phenomenon dubbed "nascent trials," which denotes a time of generally poor business between its creation and before the first regulatory visit by the government regulatory agency.

As a whole, Arche is a net importer and a net investor, and its most notable trade relationship is with its ally Baekryeoh. However, the Arche has a growing interest in the prosperity of the Eleutheroi of Polysiton and are developing trade relationship with them as well. Notably, the Arche exports foodstuff such as the Galakoi (since the Phrourion has a comparative advantage in providing heavy machinery) and high-tech equipment and imports building materials such as the Makedonian Libane timber and Helipolitan stone, as well as Thrane and other Polysitonian crops. Arche's second biggest trading partner is the Baekryeoh, not surprising given their early contact and their good relationship. With the Baekryeoh, the Arche is a net investor, although in terms of import/export, the balance is much more even. Arche trades with all other "civilized" factions, including the ever-hated Tropas Libre. However, the trade relationships with the other nations are largely minimal and/or informal.

Banking[]

The financial aspect of the overall Imperial economic policy has been a mixed result: small businesses were easy to make, and investment spending in capital is the highest in Segmentum Asia. In exchange, cutthroat competition is quite rampant given the easy availability of loans, and Arche also ranks #1 in loan failures (however, it is a bit ambiguous, as large loans aimed at starting a business usually fail, although microloans rarely fail, very much like the case with Grameen Bank), although poverty remains low and thankfully unlikely to be life-threatening due to a solid social netting.

Military[]

The Arche has a bias towards heavily armored and armed troops in general, while also focusing on range. Its primary Aktinobolos weapons are not as quick as more traditional ballistic rifles making them ill-suited to close combat, but compensates for this with stopping power, range and accuracy. In numbers, a tight group of aktinobolos bearing infantry could form a defensive formation which is daunting for infantry to crack. The Arche has adopted some Korean technology from Baekryeoh, and insipred by its Singijeon weapon created the Bolos Patagikos rifle.

Arche's infantry wear heavier armor in general. Even its light skirmish infantry, the Akrobolistai, can withstand small arms fire at par or better than the naturally durable Lagikoi infantry, and its heavy armors sported by its elite Philhellenikoi Kosmonautai has no equivalent in any other faction.

The Arche's vehicles, ships and aircraft are also known for its durability and firepower. The Keraunos is feared by Arche's enemy as the thunderbolt, tearing its targets whether it be other fighters or land targets with its Polyktinoboloi, Lonchoi missiles and sometimes the Astrape Orbs. Whereas the Arche's infantry retains a phalanx flavor, its vehicles are less so, even if the Aktinoboloi still pushes the Arche towards having first strikes. Its primary armored units are the Theros/Phoneus, which are more often than not supported by fire support platforms such as the Hamaxa Hoplike and the Hyperetes. The Theros/Phoneus are more in line with Main Battle Tanks, and the infantry support role usually goes to either the Hamaxa Hoplike or the Promachos, the latter also sporting strong armor rivalled only by the heaviest vehicles of rival factions.

However, its rigidity was loosened by the military reforms triggered by the initial defeats in the Xenophobic War. The Arche maintains its old phalanx-based army to some degree, but increased its flexibility by incorporating more flexible types of troops such as the Asdiqa from its Muslim population as well as reforming the Argyraspidai, retraining half to become Philhellenikoi Kosmonautai. It also strengthened its pre-existing mobile units such as the Hetairoi.

Navy[]

Arche's navy is also a formidable presence in Tmere Asia space, although much due to the lack of a rival which attempts to compete with it. The indigenous navies of the various Lagikanthropoi states were underdeveloped at best, and even Shuranon's navy was ill suited to extended combat in space. As such, while the land invasion of Luxium turned sour, Shuranon could do little to stop the influx of allied forces and its little orbital defense capabilities destroyed at the turning point of the Xenophobic War.

Like its army, the Imperial Navy has a tradition of fielding large guns, and its primary doctrine is that of alpha strikes, subduing enemy fleet with great firepower from a distance before the enemy has a chance to strike back. The Keraunos proves once again to be a great asset to the Imperial Navy: while fighter technologies and speeds haven't reached a level enough to make carriers the main offensive tool over the battleship with ship-based guns, the Keraunos and Hierax serves as a great screen against smaller but nimbler craft fielded by Infantid and Libertarian pirates and raiders should they be too small for the big guns such as the Megistaktinobolos and the Xyston Alexandrou.

Imperial ships eschew the modern ship classification, and instead are classified by their sizes in a fashion similar to the galleys of the old, where the numeric meaning of the ship represented the length of a broadside battery segment in units of eikosipechys (about 9.2m), although even smaller ships usually sported 3 such segments, and larger ships sporting 5, 6 or even more: Moneres (singles) are the smallest ship classes of the Imperial Navy, roughly equivalent to the modern corvette used as patrols and scouts. Dieres (twos), Trieres (threes), Tetreres (fours) and Penteres (fives) represent lighter mainstays of the navy, with smaller Dieres and Trieres being the rough equivalent of the modern frigate, and the Tetreres and Penteres the destroyer. The sixes to tens (Hexeres, Hepteres, Okteres, Enneres, Dekeres) are the rough equivalent of lighter cruisers, the elevens to fifteens the heavier cruisers/battlecruisers, and sixteens to twenties are equivalents of the battleships and are the largest regular ships that the Arche field.

Some of the notable ship classes include the Angelos-class Moneres, specialized in reconnaissance and intelligence, the Ekdromos-class Tetreres serving as a light warship specialized in speed specifically to outrun and capture pirate crafts, the Prodromos-class Hepteres serving as lighter reserve ships used to fill gaps or exploit weaknesses in enemy formations, the Rhodios-class Endekeres being a skirmisher-style cruiser taking advantage of its long range missiles, and the Kretikos-class Endekeres filling the role of a fast hitter, and Kimmerikos-class Dodekeres being the heavier support for Rhodioi and the Kretikoi as the sturdiest of the "regional" ships. However, the Arche's most prized ships are unsurprisingly the largest: the Hieromachos-class Enneakaidekeres (nineteen) is an arsenal ship and the larger, more heavily armed cousin of the Rhodios, and the Nikephoros-class Eikoseres is to Tmere Asia as what the Dreadnought is to modern navies: an icon of Hellenistic firepower and naval supremacy.

Diplomacy[]

While Arche Hellenike is among the most powerful states in Segmentum Asia and the prime candidate for the hegemonic power there, Arche Hellenike has turned away from its aggressively expansionist past. Arche Hellenike retains some degree of expansionism, having colonized Anatole incorporating its indigenous Anthropodaimones under its flag, Arche Hellenike used diplomacy and trade to achieve colonization of Anatole, relying little on its military might unlike the case of the unification of Meizotere Hellas proper and the annexation of Hellas Eschate. The Xenophobic War played a large role in this: while the military reforms brought Arche's military power up to become probably the strongest in Segmentum Asia, the same war led to the defeat of Arche's imperialist agenda. Likewise, the Arche Hellenike is more akin to the colonial city-states like Miletos or Korinthos than it is say to the more imperialistic states like Arche Seleukeia. However, it has gone to wars for its interest in the past namely in the form of Xenophobic War, but diplomatic pressure from Baekryeoh as well as political costs saved Shuranon from being annexed, and it remains an independent state although with some Arche pressure much like the relationship between Iaponia and Henomenai Politeiai tes Amerikes.

Likewise, Arche Hellenike's only major hostility is with the Tropas Libre, mainly due to ideological conflict and the history around the Eleutherian War. Arche on the other hand has sought friendship with other powers, and its diplomatic efforts bore fruit in the form of alliance with the Korean republic of Baekryeoh. The Baekryeoh's openness and friendliness was well-received by the Arche, and their good relationship has evolved into an alliance in which they cooperate both militarily, economically and technologically. Their good relationship is only matched by the equally strong alliance between the Lagikoi and the Sentinels of Polysiton who have dubbed themselves the Eleutheroi.

Kallistrata maintains a favorable view of the Eleutheroi of Polysiton, mostly due to the academic partnership centered between the Phrontisterion of Meizon Pella and Sematia Aiakida's Phrourion. This academic cooperation saw expansion, with the Arche supporting the raising of a generation of scientists and engineers. Not only do the Arche cooperate with the Phrourion, the Arche also dispatched professors, engineers as well as funding and equipment to Hebe Meteora's new initiative the Meteora Institute of Aerospace Propulsion. This earned Kallistrata Pellaia the title of Euergeta (benefactor) and improved relationship between Polysiton and Meizotere Hellas.

In-Game Appearance[]

Cyan Sphere of Doom: Galactic War and Imperium Novum[]

Arche does not appear in the game, although the Demokratidai which were the prototype faction that was eventually conceptualized fully to the Arche Hellenike, was planned to appear on the expansion that never came to be.

Cyan Sphere of Doom: Commoners' Legion[]

The Arche is one of the two new factions to be introduced into the game alongside Tropas Libre. The Arche fills the powerhouse archetype, having the strongest base infantry in the game, the Philhellenikoi Kosmonautai, and continues to follow the path to superior firepower in the form of the Bathron Hoplikon. The Arche also has strong strike options, such as the Theristes UAV. While they have strong units, heavy fire support, and flexible quick-strike units such as the Hetairoi, the backbone of the Arche's forces remains a lumbering beast, similar to what the phalangitai of the old Diadochoi had been. As such, judicious usage of faster units to secure favorable conditions for Arche's powerful units is essential.
